Summary: Film based on the book by Cyril Jolly "The Vengeance of Private Pooley" recalls the massacre at Le Paradis (Pas de Calais, France) on 27 May 1940 (during the British retreat to Dunkirk) of soldiers of 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment, recollected by one of the two survivors, Private Albert Pooley, whose later testimony at the 1948 Hamburg trial of Fritz Knoechlin helped secure the German officer's conviction and death sentence.
