Description: "Well boys we are off". Members of the regiment set off by train; the limbers for their horses are carried on flatbed rail cars.
"Our cameraman strolls round the camp, and secures..." General views of the tented camp in the countryside outside Seaford. Soldiers are inspected by senior officers, band marches. Meat is diced by cooks and open air stoves are prepared. Kit is laid out; drill and inspection. Senior officer inspects the chin of one of the soldiers (accompanied by the caption "And when did you shave last?") and also the mechanism of a firearm. Civilian spectators, including children, join with the regiment at a drumhead service. Marching and parade, with fife and drum band. Open air sports, a boxing match and a game of soccer. Group of soldiers and sportsmen smile for the camera. Band, seated, play a concert. Marchpast and salute; horses and limbers are included.
"Field Day... at 'High and Over'". Field exercises. The location is High and Over, a hill near Alfriston in Sussex. Group of officers and padre gather. Members of the regiment venture out onto scrubland for combat parctice featuring machine guns and mortars. Officers' horses.
"Undress Parade." Comical scene in which men walk around in pyjamas and dressing gowns. "Dry land sailors!" Two soldiers in a rowing boat on a pond.
"Sports Day." People gather and band plays: brief shots of sporting events, including relay race, sack race and tug-o-war.
"Inspection Day." Names of participating officers, including Inspecting Officer, General Sir Richard C B Haking, the Regiment's Commanding Officer are captioned. Parade, including nurses. Inspection by the general, who talks to soldiers and checks uniforms. Medals are pinned onto the lapels of recipients. Regimental standard and battle honours are shown.
