Summary: 18 and 19 June, survivors of SS Lancastria land at Millbay Dock. Stretchers are loaded into ambulances. Small boat R N H Cavell. Aliens arrive in ship's tender. The John Hawkins enters the dock, packed with troops. Some men on board are playing instruments - the banjo and accordion, others are singing. The troops receive cigarettes, drinks and paper for writing home. Some hand in completed letters. Troops wait at track for the train. Sign for "Fox Eliott & Co. Ltd". Troop train arrives at the dockside. The troops fill their water bottles and board the train. Some soldiers stand at the doors of the train, one shaves, others smoke. The train leaves. Some troops are RAF. Some of the waiting troops play instruments. Outside the dock, crowds line the streets and wave to the troops as they march to the station. Posters for Fairy, Rinso, Heinz Salad Cream, Players cigarettes, also "Help Win the War on the Kitchen Front".
