Description: I. "The Day of Victory": May 8, 1945, sees VE Day rejoicing in Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, and outside Buckingham Palace, where King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, and the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret greet the crowds. The King later shares the victory celebrations with Churchill, Admiral Cunningham, Field Marshal Brooke, and Marshall of the RAF Portal. Churchill drives through the streets, acknowledging the cheers of the crowds. He visits the French ambassador, the American Ambassador, Mr Winant, and the Russian Ambassador, Mr Gusev. The final sequence depicts Victory Night celebrations.
