Description: I. The visit of Premier William Hughes and Minister of the Navy Sir Joseph Cook to Australian Corps headquarters at Allonville on 2 July 1918. They arrive by car and are greeted by Lieutenant-General Sir John Monash. Hughes poses with Monash and his staff on the steps of the building before driving off to visit the troops. Cook is shown addressing one of the three bands of 200 selected soldiers (from 4th, 6th or 11th Brigade, all of which were visited) with Hughes and Monash looking on. II. Portrait shots of General Sir William Birdwood and his Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Sir C B Brudenell White, in front left profile. Both Birdwood and Brudenell White shake hands with their staff in front of headquarters before driving off to take command of Fifth Army, 11am 31 May 1918. A portrait shot of General Monash, who replaced Birdwood. III. An unattached sequence of Australian troops collecting fresh vegetables, transporting them by punt and loading them onto lorries.
