Summary: Unedited footage, without captions, showing activities of cadets at camp in North East Scotland.
Description: Sports day at cadet camp: young cadets run and pick up car tyres, and take part in a physical training (PT) display. A young cadet and an older man, wearing boxing gloves, stand in barrels and spar with each other. Prizegiving sequence.
Army cadets stand on moorland, and inspect a tank and various small arms; several young cadets pose with their weapons for the camera. They take rides on armoured cars of various types. Army Cadet Force officers gather and drink tea. Cadets of mixed ages gather and wait for training to start (some of them, even young ones, smoke cigarettes). Group of cadets drive across country in the large turret of a self-propelled gun; other cadets inspect tanks. Scenes in camp, where various cadets, mostly in uniform, paddle around a pool in small dinghies; there is also an outdoor boxing ring, where younger cadets fight, while older cadets spar with instructors.
Woodland scenes: young adult cadets in uniforms are addressed by officers. Amid much mirth, they rub mud onto their faces before taking part in manoeuvres, making their way stealthily through long grass.
Young men in trunks swim in a stream near a large house; the stream is full of debris including tree trunks and a set of wheels with axle. PT in exercises in field.
At an airfield, men line up in uniforms and helmets as a bomber comes in to land. The men, now in parachutes, check their packs and prepare to climb on board. At the side of the runway, a demonstration is given of how a parachute unfolds during an air drop; the instructor wears a kilt.
