Summary: Unedited footage, without captions, showing activities of cadets at camp in North East Scotland.
Description: Cadets of various ages gather outside hutted camp wearing caps and tam o’shanters. Posed shots of various soldiers. General views of the camp accommodation huts. The cadets are seen on a march and also taking part in an open air prayer service, after which they relax on the grass. Soldier on guard duty, marching up and down outside his red sentry box.
On ranges in the moorlands, cadets have an al fresco meal, buying snacks and bottles of soft drinks from a stall at the back of a Land Rover. They relax with their drinks.
Drive through of small town (“... Castle”, possibly Barnard Castle, County Durham), passing a public house called the Beaconsfield, and local shops. Visit to the Midland Bank and a petrol station selling Regent petrol.
Further scenes at camp: parade ground and marching drills. Individual kit is issued at quartermaster’s window and taken into a field; one section of kit is laid out (blanket, pack, mess items etc).
