  • Summary: Unedited rushes of a combined visit and lecture tour to the major sites of the Normandy landings of June 1944, by the American historian Professor Stephen Ambrose, author of many books including 'Band of Brothers'. This work about the campaign in North-West Europe was in the process of being researched at this stage and was published in 1992. Reminiscences by American, British and German veterans of the campaign. Three American veterans: Winters, Lipton and Malarkey feature in 'Band of Brothers', which was filmed for television in 2001. Some of the British veterans including Major John Howard featured in the book 'Pegasus Bridge' by Stephen Ambrose.
