Description: I. 27 April 1937: opening day of the National Maritime Museum. King George VI, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Elizabeth (the future Queen Elizabeth II) boarding the 45 foot admiral's barge; the barge casts off. The flotilla, consisting of the admiral's barge and British Power Boat Company motor torpedo boats nos 3, 4, 5 and 6, seen passing up the River Thames from Tower Bridge to Greenwich where the royal party disembark and inspect members of the Royal Navy. The royal party depart (Princess Elizabeth looking straight at the camera) past a cheering crowd.
II. 1936, King Edward VIII inspecting the first motor torpedo boat flotilla. He is seen boarding MTB 1 and witnessing a torpedo being launched.
III. 1936, King Edward VIII visiting Davenport on an inspection tour using a 45 foot admirals barge.
