- Summary: Amateur colour film shot by Arthur Green, a Greater London Council Assistant Scientific Officer, records a summer motoring holiday in Switzerland and brief scenes in Milan.
- Description: Opening title "HOLIDAY SCRAPBOOK 1947". Car being lifted by crane from dockside onto a ferry. Car being driven slowly along the dockside. Title "Interlaken and Grindelwald", various street scenes and the party seated in a cafe and having tea in the countryside. Title "All we saw of the Passes", brief view looking down on a car driving slowly along a mountain road with numerous hair-pin bends, unidentified man walks up to a car parked on the roadside and shrouded in mist, man eating inside the parked car, making tea on the roadside, road sign post pointing the way to Lugano, view across Lake Lugano, one of the woman holidaymakers seated in a deckchair, one of the male holidaymakers wearing a bathing suit walks carefully out of the water of the lake, two of the holidaymakers seated in an open-air cafe and walking along the narrow streets, numerous lakeside views, a group of men dancing in the street to the music of accordion and one of the holidaymakers packing up their wicker picnic basket. Title "Glimpses of Milan", the Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, street scenes, the Duomo, an unusual three wheeled white sports car, a young boy seated looking at the camera, signpost pointing the way to Zurich. Street scenes in Zurich, the clock of St Peter's Church, views of the Frauenkirche, long shot of the bridge and view of the statue of Ulrich Zwingli. Titles "Railway Centenary", "The Jubilee Train". (Zurich August 1947). Well-dressed passengers embarking on a replica of "Limmat" (the first Swiss steam locomotive). The highly polished brass and wood strip panelled replica steam engine and painted passenger carriages pull out of the station past the camera. Passengers and a ticket collector in an open top carriage. Rear view of the replica steam engine. A parade, including a band and athletes (?). Title "Lucerne", brief view of the lake. Dark views of a man working on the running boards of a car, a women looking out over a bridge and single grave stone. The Hofkirche. Further shots of the lake. Dark shots of the Spreuerbrucke. Shot across the lake to the Hofkirche. A large fountain (probably in front of the Kunst und Kongresshaus) followed by another view of the Hofkirche. Statue of William Tell. The holidaymakers looking in a shop window. View over a wooden bridge. The holidaymakers seated in a street cafe. The two male holidaymakers working on the engine of their car. Female holidaymaker peeling a boiled egg. Brief view of the rear of a statue (?) and a damaged bridge. Lucerne from the water. Three of the holidaymakers posing for the camera on board ship.
