Ludwig] "Its gardens are beautiful" "The castle grounds are filled with tame deer" Mr Stehli, Peggy and Larry feed the deer. "In Munich is a modern copy of the old clocks with moving figures. This one was built 20 years ago." "We leave the Bavarian plains and approach the Bavarian Alps" "OBERAMMERGAU Oberammergau is a little village lying in the Alps and is famous for its Passion Play given every 10 years. A view of our hotel which like most of the buildings is covered with religious paintings" "A typical villager. Almost all of the inhabitants of Oberammergau take part in the Passion Play and all, even the small boys, allow their hair to grow for several years before the play is given in order to look like Biblical characters without the aid of artificial makeup" Portraits of individual villagers and children playing. "The theatre in which the Passion Play is given on the outskirts of the village.
