For all those who served in the 1914-1918 war, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Women's Royal Naval Service, Auxiliary Territorial Service, Women's Auxiliary Air Force. To be held at Dartmouth, West Bromwich (in the event of wet weather, at the Town Hall) on Sunday September 8th at 3.30pm.
His Worship the Mayor, Councillor J.J. Grant J.P has organised this parade because everyone wishes to see face to face the local men and women who have fought for the cause of freedom and saved our beloved country.
Now turn up to parade and fall in in your respective units i.e. veterans, Navy, Army, R.A.F, A.T.S. etc at 2.45pm, Drill Hall, Carters Green, West Bromwich (Move off at 3pm) and give your town folk the thrill of their lives. They endured so much but were not fortunate enough to handle a gun. Nevertheless remember we owe them at least this small token of gratitude because without their help at home we could never have won the war.
No uniforms please but wear your decorations. The salute will be taken in Dartmouth Park by Admiral Sir Martin Dunbar-Nasmith V.C. K.C.B. late Commander-in-Chief, Western Approaches.
Bands: South Staffordshire Regimental Band by kind permission of the officer commanding. West Bromwich Borough Prize Band. West Bromwich and Smethwich Sea Cadets Band. The whole proceedings will be filmed.
