Summary: The almost intact wreck is found by divers in 70 metres of water under the North Sea. Very clear shots of a diver moving along the outer shell of the submarine, as it rests on the sea bed. Various shots showing the exterior, including guns, conning tower and hatches. There are few encrustations attached to the vessel and so its structure is clearly seen. Lights are used to illuminate the scenes.
Lifting cables and sling around the hull are seen attached prior to lifting.
Shot of submarine hanging from sling in interior dry dock after successful salvage. Shots of mud covered interior of submarine showing everyday artefacts, such as plates and boots.
