Summary: Work progresses on maquettes (full scale and part scale) for the "Hands of Victory" sculpture in the sculptor's workshop.
Description: I. (Silent.) Views of the full-size hand, with sculptor Philip Jackson (holding the casting of Saddam's hand) and assistant walking round inspecting it. Philip talks to camera (no sound). Further views of the maquette.
II. (Sound.) Interview, in English, with Mohammed Ghani, who describes the background to the project. The original design for the arches was devised by Saddam Hussein himself, and initially sculpted by Adil Kamil (who had died the previous year). The original design involved hands holding palms, later changed to swords. He discusses the casting of Saddam Hussein's hand, which took two hours, and the discussions "about art [and] interesting things" which took place during the casting.
