- Film Number: A70 139-6
- Other titles:
- Summary: Engineers from two of 43rd (Wessex) Division's field companies and 7th Army Troops Engineers construct Class 9 and Class 40 pontoon bridges over the Seine at Vernon, thus allowing reinforcements to cross into 30th Corps' bridgehead on the north bank of the river.
- Description: Transport and anti-tank artillery belonging to 130th Brigade head slowly across the 650-foot long Class 9 Folding Boat bridge built by 553 and 204 Field Companies RE. A cumbersome 17-pounder anti-tank gun belonging to the 59th Anti-Tank Regiment's 233 Battery RA is manhandled onto the light pontoon bridge. Meanwhile, with the assistance of a mobile crane, 7th Army Troops Engineers prepare a Class 40 floating Bailey bridge for construction on the south bank of the Seine. Despatch riders and detachments from the 4th Battalion Dorset Regiment's carrier and anti-tank platoons and infantrymen on foot head through Vernon and slowly move over the light pontoon bridge to the north bank.
