Summary: Sections for use in the bases of the Hands of Victory are cast at Henshaw's foundry.
Description: Polystyrene sections of the maquette are laid out on the floor; the fibreglass pattern is thenn laid on top of it (continued from previous tape. Red earth is packed around the edges of the maquette and mould; this is then smoothed into place.
Final preparation of mould in frame (from previous tape); mould is lifted up by overhead winch, revealing how the new mould has been formed from the solidified sand. Interior is smoothed and cleaned, and the fibreglass pattern is removed. Excess red clay is shovelled off and put into a wheelbarrow for future use. The sand mould is then lowered carefully to the floor; the fibreglass pattern is put back in and secured. Meanwhile, a second mould has its interior coated with a silver substance.
