Summary: Amateur film with titles shot by Bertram Walter Bradbury, Chairman of the Dairy Farm and Cold Storage Company, after his release from Japanese internment at Stanley camp in Hong Kong, records the Victory Parade, passage to Fremantle (Australia) on HMHS Gerusalemme, then to Sydney on HMS Berwick, first sight in six years of his family and four year old grandson John Fowler in Sydney, and return back to Hong Kong on SS Empire Gunfleet.

Unveiling ceremony at Cenotaph on Hong Kong waterfront precedes parade past saluting base occupied by Lady Mountbatten, Admiral Harcourt and other senior British and Nationalist Chinese service figures. Flypast overhead by squadron of twelve planes. Nationalist Chinese youths celebrate end of Japansese occupation, walking with large portrait of their leader Chiang Kai-Shek, and displaying traditional Chinese masks. "Following internment at Stanley, Hong Kong, to Fremantle. RNHS Gerusalemme 1945". Black and white. Man in suit and white shirt stands in busy street (more likely Perth than Fremantle). Two Australian Army nurses stand beside Army ambulance, presumably for transporting former internees. White painted hospital ship (Gerusalemme) at dockside, also HMS Berwick. "Fremantle to Sydney HMS Berwick. Meeting family after 6 years. 1945". Mr Bradbury's family members, including his young grandson John, wait on the Sydney quayside, John held in arms of father's best friend Vic Bond and waving to his grandfather the cameraman. Colour of similar scene, with mother Margaret Fowler and grandmother Margaret Bradbury on quayside dressed in blue and wearing characteristically Australian white gloves, while John appears excited by sight of his grandfather. Street scenes with rickshaws after arrival back in Hong Kong.
