Summary: DVD edited with titles and music and effects by the cameraman and later Oscar winning director, Arnold Schwartzman, featuring British Army life and the unveiling of the Gloster Hill war memorial in South Korea, between July 1956 and June 1957. During this period, serving as a National Serviceman with the 1st Batallion, the Royal Sussex Regiment, Schwartzman documented on 8mm film his day to day life as a soldier, his surroundings at Camp Kohima and beyond, and events and occasions such as the battalion's farewell parade, a visit from the President of the Republic of Korea, and the regiment's departure from South Korea onboard HMT Asturias. The original films are also held by IWM as MGH 6856.
