Summary: Prisoners from Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS and Luftwaffe Flak and Fallschirmjäger formations are seen in 53rd (Welsh) Division's custody near Falaise.
Description: In an improvised reception POW cage manned jointly by 'Redcaps' and Royal Artillery personnel at Noron l'Abbaye, an MP searches new arrivals for documentation and concealed weapons. A tired-looking Wehrmacht soldier is seen wearing a tunic minus several buttons, patched-up trousers and worn-out boots. A prisoner combs lice (?) from his hair; a turban-wearing Asian sits passively in the reception compound while other POWs are seen resting. A German-speaking gunner examines documents and clothing from another batch of new arrivals. A German medical orderly sprays fellow prisoners with delousing powder. More POWs are seen arriving at the cage, escorted by British infantrymen; these range in type and appearance from a polyglot procession including Russian peasants and an erect-looking, wounded Wehrmacht artillery lieutenant to youthful troops (some in camouflage suits) from the 12th SS Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend'. An Asian POW cleans himself with a dirty rag. As the prisoners prepare to leave, a Soviet POW in civilian clothes picks up their litter in a discarded Wehrmacht helmet.
