Summary:
Description: Not far from the N158 Falaise-Argentan highway, the cameraman studies the remains of a Wehrmacht road convoy destroyed in a country road and in adjacent fields between the villages of Necy and Ronai. The decomposing corpses of horses lying stiffly on the road and the personal effects of the retreating German troops - clothing, blankets, mattresses, books, ammunition and ration books, webbing, mess-tins and kitbags - strewn in piles around each wrecked or abandoned vehicle enhance the pathos of the scene. Among the vehicles apparently intact are a horse-drawn waggon carrying veterinary medical stores and a Czech-built Tatra (?) heavy cargo lorry (seen here stuck behind a destroyed Ford lorry) whose cargo of tools, wooden boxes, a motorcycle tyre, a kitbag and other personal effects are examined.
