Summary: Second World War British Ministry of Information animated cartoon newsreel trailer encouraging the public to post early for Christmas.
Description: Inside his giant white pillar-box home in the clouds Father Christmas waits anxiously for the letters and parcels he must deliver before Christmas. His single reindeer and sleigh waits at the door. Father Christmas paces impatiently around his room while the days pass by (indicated by the pages of a calendar) and the hours tick by (indicated by a speeded-up cuckoo clock). On 24 December Father Christmas bursts into tears in desperation. Suddenly a large number of letters and parcels drop in to his post-box home. Father Christmas sets off to deliver the Christmas mail with his sleigh overladen with an enormous sack of post, his reindeer carrying parcels tied to his antlers and the cuckoo from the clock following on with a single parcel carried in his beak. The overloaded sleigh crashes to the ground and Father Christmas and his reindeer are half-buried in a pile of snow. Father Christmas' head emerges from the snow and he appeals to the audience "If only people would post earlier. Remember post before December 18th, if you possibly can".
