Description: A procession consisting of naval troops from the destroyer La Combattante, war veterans, ex-prisoners of war and a party of Royal Marines and British and Canadian representatives, led by the Mayor of Courseulles Doctor Quinquenelle, holds a wreath-laying ceremony at the 1914-18 War Memorial in honour of the Canadian troops who fell on 'Juno' beach on D-Day. Doctor Quinquenelle lays a wreath, followed by the RN Beach Group Captain Maude, and Captain Patou of La Combattante. Royal Marines Bugler F Stephens plays the Last Post. In the afternoon a football match is played between the local team and Royal Engineers. The pipers of the 8th (Liverpool Irish) Battalion King's Regiment plays to the audience before the game starts. Brief highlights of the match are shown in which the engineers win 5-2; officers in an amphibious jeep watch the match.
