Description: Footage of Boutros-Ghali, UN Secretary General, leaving Sarajevo, accompanied by Yasushi Akashi and General Rose. The talks had been frustrated by the non-attendance of Karadzić, Serb leader.
Footage showing Boutros-Ghali’s arrival. He is greeted by Akashi at Sarajevo Airport. His goal is to control the situation in the Bihać pocket and agree UNPROFOR’s basic roles over the coming year. Shots of armed guards outside the building where the meetings are taking place. Shots of demonstrators protesting against the Secretary General’s visit. Footage of Bosnian President Izetbegović and Boutros-Ghali shaking hands. The Secretary-General says that their discussions have been good and that he feels sure that the Bosnian government is committed to the peace process. President Izetbegović is more forthright in his views. He says that the Secretary General should not be neutral but, instead, should speak in favour of the creation of a Bosnian state.

In the Bihać pocket, fighting continues and UN convoys remain unable to service BANBAT. Velika Kladuša is surrounded by rebel Muslim forces and could fall at any time.
