Summary: Brief tour of the RAF Museum in Hendon.
Description:Beginning with a reconstruction of WRAF living quarters in 1918, presenter Michelle Brown introduces some of the exhibits at the RAF Museum, illustrated with snatches of archive footage: SE5, Vickers Vimy full scale replica, Rolls-Royce armoured car. Film of early Hendon Air Show and exterior of Museum, converted from hangars at Hendon Airfield. The director, Dr John Tanner, explains the Museum's philosophy and shows some of the other exhibits including a Hawker Hind "dragged back from Afghanistan" and a Gloster Gladiator. The Battle of Britain is covered using archive footage and static Spitfire and Hurricane, and pilot's signatures on blackboard from the White Hart pub, Biggin Hill. Wellington and Lancaster bombers are shown, and the latest exhibit, a Hawker Harrier, "because for the RAF, history is still in the making".
