- Summary: I. German POWs captured in Franco-Serbian offensive against Monastir. II. A semi-comic portrayal of part of the work of the Army Remount Service. III. Wedding of Prince George of Battenberg.
- Description: I. 'CAPTURED GERMANS. German prisoners of war captured by the French and Serbian Troops in the offensive which is being made towards Monastir.' German POWs fall in on station platform - the wagons of the POW train are visible in the background. The relatively small group of only about 30 prisoners is marched off, surrounded by a numerous armed guard of French soldiers. II. 'TRAINING REMOUNTS FOR THE ARMY. A special depôt for breaking in dangerous horses which are eventually sent off for Active Service.' Officer holds halter of horse with exaggerated care - he feeds it some sugar, then leads the animal over a low jump which consists of a single length of string between two posts. He mounts the horse, which appears to object. MS as the rider attempts the jump - the horse refuses and he falls off - clearly a contrived sequence, as the rider does not attempt to jump the horse but merely rides it into the obstacle and as it stumbles dives over its head. A second attempt, successfully clearing the jump. 'READY FOR SERVICE. After a month's training these vicious rebels are handled by lady grooms.' The officer and three 'lady grooms' demonstrate the horses' docility by standing up on the animal's backs - one horse is not quite docile enough. The trial is repeated with two horses, the officer and groom holding hands as they stand - the man's horse suddenly lunges off to the left and he neatly steps off its rump to fall to the ground. End MS of the man and grooms sitting together on a wall - he is stroking a black and white cat on his lap. III. 'THE ROYAL WEDDING. Countess Nada de Torby daughter of the Grand Duke Michael of Russia married to Prince George of Battenberg at the Chapel Royal.' The bride arrives with her father by car and enters Russian Embassy. Cut to Queen Mary as she leaves the church and gets into waiting car. Russian officers leave and gather on the pavement outside. Two British naval officers leave - possibly Prince George and his best man. 'ANGLO-RUSSIAN ALLIANCE. Scenes at the Russian Church where the first part of the ceremony was solemnised.' Bride leaves accompanied by her father - the Russian officers congregated about the entrance salute. The bride's car departs.
