- Description: I. 'QUEEN AND MUNITIONETTES. The girl War Workers of Coventry gave Her Majesty a rousing welcome. She was deeply interested in all phases of their life.' The Queen, accompanied by company dignitaries, the Mayor of Coventry, Alderman Alick Hill, and the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Lord Leigh, walks between ranks of workers. She flips through a commemorative book which she has been given - she does not seem impressed. Factory managers are presented. Workers applaud as Queen passes. She talks with a factory nurse before getting into her car. '"KEPT HERE TO WORK." An old soldier who fought in Chitral and South Africa explains to the Queen why he can't get to France.' Man wearing workshop apron, his shirt sleeves rolled up, stands talking with Queen - a con-rod is artfully displayed in the bench vice he stands beside. II. 'ALL AIR WEDDING. At the wedding at Ascot of Lieut. Annandale, R.F.C. and Miss Theodora Caldwell, the best man, the chaplain, the organist and the choir were all airmen.' Guests - all airman - and their ladies arrive at South Ascot Parish Church. Miss Caldwell arrives by coach and is led inside by her father who wears a Colonel's uniform. Once at the entrance the bride's dress is fussed over preparatory to her going inside. Cut to the married couple emerging to be showered with rice. III. 'THE KING ON CLYDESIDE. His Majesty met with a great reception at Glasgow when he bestowed 143 honours including three V.Cs. before eighty thousand people at Ibrox Park.' HM wearing Army uniform arrives by car at the stadium - it is raining heavily. LA.MS of the King together with Lieutenant-General Ewart, C-in-C of the Scottish Command, on raised dais - HM is busy decorating. In one case a father accepts a posthumous award. 'HONOUR FOR MAIMED V.C. There was a tornado of cheering when Private H. Christian, Royal Lancaster Regiment was carried in to receive the V.C. he secured for extraordinary gallantry in a crater fight.' Draped in blankets against the inclement air, Private Christian is carried in on an invalid chair. After the award he is immediately re-wrapped and carried off. MS pan over newly honoured men sitting around the stage.
