Summary: The Hungarian minority in Baranja, in Serb-held Croatia, is featured in this first international film to be made in this ethnically diverse region in three years.
Description: Profile of the Baranja region. The war has meant that the people living here have been unable to cross the border into Hungary as easily as they used to do. The region has a long history of multiple ethnicities. At present the majority are Serbs, while 16 percent are Croats and a small minority are Hungarian. Those interviewed though, dislike these categorisations. One man says that he cannot be a Hungarian because "Hungarians live in Hungary". The main message is that the war has changed many aspects of life here but many farmers find solace in wine production. As one man put it "The only fun we have now is television and the cellar...we are simple peasants, thrown into this war unwillingly."
