Summary: A Belgrade taxi driver, Dragan Čobanov, writes to his brother whom he has not heard from for a year and a half and who lives in Konjic in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Description: Shots of Dragan in his taxi, pulling up to park on the river bank. He sits on a bench to read his letter. He is worried because he has heard nothing from his brother for over a year. He says that Belgrade has not changed but it is harder to make a living. Shots of a taxi rank and drivers. He says that fuel is hard to acquire and very expensive. He is worried that he is not going to make enough money to look after his family this winter. He asks his brother if he has sufficient clothes, food and electricity. He says “I think this is a nightmare” but then he wakes up and realises it is the “harsh reality from which there is no escape”. He ends “lots of love and regard, your brother Dragan”. Final close up on his face.
