- Description: I. 'VENICE IN ARMOUR. How the historic architecture of the beautiful city is protected against possible air raids.' HA pan over the Doges' Palace - the main staircase is heavily sandbagged and some of the architectural details have been protected with wooden casings. Wooden bracing protects the balcony colonnade. II. 'WORLD'S LARGEST PHOTOGRAPH. Colouring the biggest of the giant British Battle Photographs to be shown at the Grafton Galleries, London, under the direction of the Ministry of Information.' MS of two men, one of them standing on a step ladder, working with air brushes to colour a large composite photograph of a battle scene showing tanks and troops moving up. A woman enters from the right. Man and woman at work on the picture - he uses an airbrush and she adds detail with a pen. III. 'PRINCE IN THE PRINCIPALITY. H.R.H. arrives at Ebbw Vale, inspects Guard of Honour and shakes hands with V.A.D. nurses.' A car arrives and the Prince, dressed in army uniform, steps out to salute an aged officer. After introductions, the Prince inspects the motley honour guard made up of cadets and men of the Monmouthshire Volunteers. He shakes a nurse's hand. 'PRINCE OF WALES AS MINER. In overalls and lamp in hand H.R.H. sets out to visit a coal mine, and afterwards inspects a dockyard.' MS of the Prince in overalls and a flat cap as he walks off carrying his walking stick and a lamp, trailed by a retinue of police, military officers and colliery officials. Cut to Prince - once again in uniform and fur collared overcoat - as he regards a collection of naval guns on quayside. A crowd wave as the Prince's car leaves the dockyard. IV. 'WAR and THE WORKERS. Representative Party of War Workers visit the Western Front to study the conditions in which our soldiers fight.' Worker's representatives, carrying gas masks and steel helmets, walk along a corduroy road. The conducting Lieutenant leads them over cratered ground - one of the party finds a broken pot.
