Summary: Jakob is head of the Jewish aid organisation, La Benevolencija, in Sarajevo. He writes to friends in the Jewish community in Belgrade.
Description: Jakob stands in front of the Jewish Community Centre. He says that everybody in Sarajevo is hopeful that this spring will bring the end of the war for they are tired of it. This is the first war in Bosnia, but with the help of Jewish and non-Jewish friends, he says that they have organised themselves to take care of the community, especially the elderly and the young. Footage of a kitchen that distributes food every day. Shots of a pile of letters and parcels that have been sent through their private mail system. He explains that they publish a bulletin regularly and distribute it themselves. They are also in the process of writing a book about the expulsion of the Jews from Spain 500 years ago. He hopes to be able to send some copies of the finished book to Belgrade. He hopes that he will seen them again, in Sarajevo, Belgrade or elsewhere and that what has passed will be forgiven if not forgotten.
