Summary: What will peace mean to the people of Sarajevo? What do citizens hope peace will bring to Bosnia-Herzegovina?
Description: Panning shot of Sarajevo. Interior shot of a theatre. The theatre director explains that when the war started they decided to continue with their theatre programme regardless, which included a play by a Serbian writer. He hopes that the latest talks will bring a lasting peace.
Shots of people working in a radio station. One of them says that people in Sarajevo are sceptical of the latest talks because the international community has been ‘impotent’ over the last four years. Street scenes in central Sarajevo. Normal life has largely resumed since the ceasefire and peace talks began. The radio DJ says that despite this scepticism, people are hopeful that there will be peace eventually. One caller says that Sarajevo is the key to Bosnia-Herzegovina because if Sarajevo remains undivided then so will Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Shots of men removing a wall of sand bags from the front of a building. A man in front of a fruit and vegetable stall says that peace will only come when all citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina have returned to where they lived before the war.

Shot of the public square in the Baščaršija, people walking about in the streets, shops with goods to sell and trams running along the riverfront. Utilities should be restored by the time this programme is broadcast. Shots of people wheeling water containers along the street.
