Film Number:A70 116-6
Description: From high ground beyond Goupillieres on the west bank of the Orne, the camera pans over the picturesque Orne valley and the village of La Bagotiere which 176th Brigade is presently clearing with the assistance of armour from the 107th RAC's 'A' and 'B' squadrons in order to expand 59th (Staffordshire) Division's bridge-head on the east bank of the river. On the high ground dominating the valley is the Fôret de Grimbosq where a battlegroup from the 12th SS Panzer Division called 'Kampfgruppe Krause' is gathering before assaulting 176th Brigade's positions in the evening of August 7 1944. Includes night shots of tracer and possibly fales.
