- Summary: (Tape 1) (Looted Serb Property in Knin, and interview with Serb peasants, 13 August 1995). Two elderly Serb women walk past looted shops in Knin (white haired woman in grey dress returned to find own flat looted in KRAJINA ON FIRE). Inside looted flat clothes lie on floor, cupboards opened and door lock forced. Shell hole in side of residential block. UNTV producer Roy Head surveys wreckage. Scenes of war damage and looting along roadside, and plumes of smoke visible on horizon. Three elderly peasant men and one elderly woman are interviewed under tree. Chicken outside house. Parked tank, overturned car, smoke in distance and dying horse in field indicate recent violence in area near Knin. Triumphant sign on wall "1945-1995 HRZ Tudman [Tudjman]" links recent Croatian victory to independent Croatian state allied with Nazi Germany. (Tape 2) (Gathering evidence of human rights abuses by Croatian forces near Knin, 13 August 1995). UN Human Rights Officer Edward J Flynn, with UNTV producers Roy Head and Martina Balazova, gathers clandestine film evidence while driving in UN Cherokee vehicle of still burning and burnt out houses in villages near Knin abandoned by Serbs during recent Croatian advance. Flynn and UN Press and Information Officer Alun Roberts stop in Kistanje to take photographs of destruction before team continues their journey past knocked out tank by roadside. Serb peasant refugee family travelling along road on cart with possessions is interviewed en route by UNTV. (Tape 3) (Scenes at Camp Knin, UN Refugee Camp for Serbs, 12 August 1995). UN Human Rights Officer Edward J Flynn speaks (poor audibility) to Serb refugees inside camp through interpreter. Distant view of General Ivan Cermak of Croatian Army seated at table with UN negotiators. General scenes of Serbian refugees inside Camp Knin and moving along road in aftermath of Croatian capture of Knin. (Tape 4) (Gathering evidence of human rights abuses by Croatian forces near Knin, 13 August 1995). UNTV continues travelling shot interview with Serb refugee woman driving cart with possessions in area outside Knin (continuation of R 1838). More burnt out and burning houses and evidence of looting in town, while fires burn on opposite side of valley. Signpost to Zadar 55 kms, Benkovac 15 kms. UNTV producers Martina Balazova and Roy Head speak pieces to camera (as used in KRAJINA ON FIRE). Interview with Canadian commander Morneau, in camp during Croatian offensive 4-6 August, and with UN Human Rights Officer Edward J Flynn. Flynn refers to agreement between UN's Representative Mr Akashi and Croatian Government authorising his mission. His drive on 13 August from Knin through Kistanje and Benkovac area showed that "whole area between Knin and Benkovac" was burning; although testimony of civilians is confidential, he found evidence of looting and terrorising of civilians. Interview with (in French) with the French commander Christian Munot, who gives evidence that a seventy-year old man was assassinated on 9 August. (Tape 5) (Produver Roy Head delivers piece to camera). (Not viewed) (Tape 6) (Not viewed)
