Description: The Portuguese officers pose with their British liaison and training staff. A parade ground marchpast, possibly gunners doing formation drill. Semaphore practice on the parade ground. Gun teams practise the full drill of loading, laying and firing the 6-inch howitzer, miming the presence of a shell. Troops do physical exercises under a British instructor. A posed group of officers and civilians watch the display, including the Portuguese 'Minister' to Great Britain (Ambassador?) Dr Augusto de Vasconcellos. A race by troops in running kit. A demonstration of Portuguese singlestick fighting (Jogo do Pau). A 'reveille race' in which the runners dress in full kit before setting off over various obstacles. Portrait shots of the Portuguese Corps commander General Rosado, firstly with his staff and then by himself.
