- Summary: RN shore party inspects Japanese defences in Tokyo Bay.
- Description: I. Reel One. Camera craft approaches Azuma in company with other LCVPs - the helmsman and gunners are American. LCVPs PD-703 and 704 run ashore, and RN landing party disembarks. Japanese soldiers emerge carrying a flag of truce, and lead the British to a tarpaulin-covered Type 89 127mm Naval gun. A second emplacement contains a Model 98 20mm (?). HA.LS over the bay, where landing craft are moving about - an American with a Thompson SMG and a British rating, the barrel of a Bren sticking out of his knapsack, look out over the scene. II. Sequence filmed from a LCVP underway with companion craft, and shots of the derelict battleship Nagato with APD 124, USS Horace A Bass alongside. MS to sunken vessel marked by a buoy. III. Cut back to the landing party: after talking with the British, the Japanese are removed to a LCVP waiting in the deserted docks area. The White Ensign is raised over the RN HQ. IV. Reel Two. Sequence onboard HMS King George V as she replenishes from a storeship while underway. Shore party pack rucksacks and receive issue blankets, before forming up to transfer (with cameraman) to a LCVP and thence to APD 50, USS Sims. Onboard Sims the men are briefed by CO, Captain H J Buchanan. As they approach the coast the men don helmets and board the LCVPs. US Commander issues orders for the disembarkation through a loudhailer. MS of APD 70, USS Pavlic as LCVP passes in the foreground - two more APD are visible in the distance, one of which is APD 85, USS Runels. Cut to HA.MS from Sims as LCVP returns with the British shore party - the men are given a hot meal. Final sequence as Sims proceeds in company with USS Pavlic - a LCVP is launched from the cameraship whilst underway.
