Summary: An instructional film with commentary explaining the phenomena referred to as Radar Weather, which produces spurious radar readings.
Description: Part 1 explains how the weather can produce unusual and misleading radar readings from low level targets, in addition to producing breaks from targets outside of the usual range of the equipment, thus producing ghosts on the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) displays. Includes explanations of 'Super Refraction' and 'Radio Duct'.
Part 2 explores and explains the meteorological background behind unorthodox radar readings, defined into the following sections; POTENTIAL TEMPERATURE, SPECIFIC HUMIDITY, TYPES OF WEATHER, LAND, SEA, COAST, RADAR CLIMATOLOGY. It further explores how much of the difficultly can be overcome by cooperation between meteorological and radar personnel.
