Summary: RAF film in which James P S Thomson, a civilian consultant surgeon and civil consultant in surgery to the RAF, demonstrates how to construct a loop colostomy using the right side of the transverse colon, and how the colostomy pouch is attached to the outside of the body over the resulting stoma (hole). He then demonstrates the reversal of the procedure and goes on to construct a terminal colostomy and ileostomy using a similar procedure. Pig intestine and a specially constructed jig are used for demonstration purposes.
