Summary: Dramatised Army film in which a young Army nurse arrives in Singapore for her first posting at the British Military Hospital. She is shown her accommodation, meets the matron and ward sister and sees something of Singapore with other newly arrived nurses. She attends classes as part of her training, carries out the ward sister's instructions and assists with the ward Christmas decorations. A soldier is brought in by Sycamore helicopter on Christmas Eve, suffering from a ruptured spleen after falling over a tree in the jungle. The nurse assists with initial steps on his arrival and volunteers to watch over him after surgery, going over her responsibilities with the ward sister, who extols the benefits of service life.
