Summary:
Description: Four M10 self-propelled guns belonging to 50th Division's 102nd Anti-Tank Regiment cross 11th Armoured Division's Bailey bridge over the Orne linking Putanges and Pont Ecrepin and head westwards back into Putanges where traffic waits to cross over onto the east bank of the river. Three jeeps cross the bridge into Pont Ecrepin passing groups of French civilians (appearing somewhat incongruous in their best clothes against a backdrop of general desolation) taking a stroll on a fine Sunday summer's day. Two 11th Armoured Division engineers attempt to chat to the natives; one of the sappers refers to a phrase book to make up for his linguist deficiencies.
