Description: I. "Picture paragraphs in the week's news." (British Movietone News Issue 260A, 31/5/1934) Hawker Harts of No 18 Squadron rehearse at Upper Heyford before the Pageant, taking off, flying in formation and landing.
II. "Tied together air drill." (Movietone News Theatre - British Movietone News Issue 262A, 14/6/1934) At RAF Hawkinge, Hawker Furies of No 25 Squadron take off abreast, each plane roped to its neighbours by elastic, and perform "evolutions in the sky" which are described by a female voice.
III. "RAF Air Pageant at Hendon." (British Movietone News Issue 265, 2/7/1934) HRH the Prince of Wales arrives in a Vickers Viastra at Hendon airfield on the day of the Pageant. Large crowds watch the various displays which include a Boulton Paul Overstrand shooting down a Bristol Bulldog fighter simulating war conditions, formation flying by Harts, a flypast by a Blackburn Perth and three Saro Cloud flying boats (actual Pageant commentary faintly audible), a bomb attack by a Vickers Virginia against skittles on the ground and finally the shooting down in flames of a barrage balloon.
