Description: I. "King Peter weds." Crowds stand outside the Yugoslav Embassy in London as Royal visitors (Duchess of Kent, Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Bernhard, King George II of the Hellenes, King Haakon, George VI and Queen Elizabeth) arrive for the wedding of King Peter of Yugoslavia to Princess Alexandre of Greece, who afterwards stand on the Embassy steps.
II. "U-Boat hunters kill six." Four sloops return to Liverpool dock after having "routed a U-Boat pack in the Atlantic." WRNS wave excitedly, U-Boat prisoners step ashore, then First Lord of the Admiralty Alexander, with C-in-C Western Approaches Admiral Sir Max Horton beside him, makes a speech in which he dwells on the achievement of the sailors ("you fellows"). Sailors give him three cheers.
III. "The Marshalls." US Naval bombardment precedes the approach of landing craft to Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshal Islands. Shore scenes show marines advancing and firing guns and mortars. Troops wear a conspicuous patch on their backs for easy identification by low-flying US planes (not seen). Unusual sight of Japanese surrendering (emerging from a pillbox) and under guard (undressing). American flag is hoisted.
