Summary: Incomplete newsreel issue.
Description: I. "Transport - the hard way." Chinese labourers haul on ropes towing a boat up through rapids in a mountainous district of China. The boat allegedly contains war supplies.
II. "The U-Boats come in." Scenes of various U-Boats in British waters after having surrendered. Off Weymouth, a U-Boat ties up alongside a drifter (Polish sailors guard the crew) and is later seen sailing under the White Ensign up the Thames before berthing at Westminster. Other U-Boats enter Loch Eriboll near Cape Wrath, where their own crews demilitarise them under supervision, throwing ammunition and armaments overboard. A large cargo-carrying vessel, U-532, allegedly on its way with a 50000 lb cargo from Japan when it surrendered, is seen in the Gladstone Dock at Liverpool. Admiral Sir Max Horton, Commander-in-Chief, Western Approaches, goes aboard a U-Boat in the River Foyle at Londonderry. Commentary concludes by stressing the need for Allied unity so that "never again must the Huns be in a position to threaten civilisation with this or any other weapon."
