Summary: Navy Instructional film intended to emphasise the importance of training and quick reactions in dealing with fire onboard a submarine. The initial reactions on discovering a fire are shown, as are the subsequent actions necessary in order to maintain a continuous fire fighting effort. When the fire continues to escalate the compartment is evacuated and a prepared re-entry made. The fire is extinguished and a smoke clearance plan put into operation. Other considerations, such as the presence of enemy surface warships, the effects of the fire on essential ship's systems and the handling of casualties, are also shown.
