Jap throws everything he's got at us." The joint assault on Guam under heavy fire: "the flag is planted again...". The infantry advance, and an air base is taken; shots of wrecked Zeros. "The Navy's big guns are hammering away... the flame throwers move up... to burn them out of their hilltops." Evacuation under heavy fire. Rocket barrage. "The battle from inside a tank." A Japanese oil dump "goes up". Thunderbolts take off, one crashes; a hilltop command post is attacked. "The Japs fall back slowly." Loudspeakers appeal for surrender. "The final fling on Saipan." The front line - infantry and tanks. "Picking them off" on a hillside; "some choose suicide by jumping". "We buried our dead" - Division 4 and Second Marine Division cemetery.
