Summary:
Description: I. "Girl Lifeguards." Girls have replaced men as life-guards on some of the surfing beaches of New South Wales. Glamorous athletes demonstrate their skills.
II. "Brazilian Expeditionary Force." Men of the First Brazilian Expeditionary Force and women of the Brazilian Women's Legion parade in Sao Paulo before the War Minister Dutra, prior to posting overseas.
III. "A family habit." Lord Gort VC is present in Italy as General Alexander presents the VC to his son-in-law Major Sidney of the Grenadier Guards.
IV. "Havoc from the air." Continuing offensive against Germany by the US 8th Army Air Force is illustrated by Liberators flying in formation, passing through flak and releasing bombs and by dramatic camera-gun film taken by fighters. Sequences include attacks on S-Boats, railway trains and Luftwaffe airfields (some Me 110's with propellers turning are shot up) as well as air-to-air engagements with Bf 109's, Me 110's and (identification uncertain) FW 190's. During two separate engagements the extra fuel tanks on an Bf 109 and FW 190 explode and disintegrate; other unusual film provides a remarkably close-up tail view of an FW 190 and an Bf 109 spinning earthwards with its wing shot away.
