Summary: Second World War British Ministry of Information newsreel trailer encouraging the public to post early for Christmas.
Description: The film opens with a drawing of telegraph poles and telephone lines over which a Post Office Telegraph envelope appears through stop-action filming. The envelope is addressed to the British Public Everywhere and the telegramme inside contains the message "many thanks your response my post early for xmas appeal last year. I know you will do even better this xmas. Postmaster General" Over brief shots of letters being posted in post boxes and a Christmas card being written, the commentary informs the public that 20th December is the last posting date for letters and cards and 18th December is the last posting date for packets and parcels. The commentary states "We are fair to you. We've given you the latest dates so be fair to the GPO and don't be the cause of a postal avalanche at the last minute" views of a queue of people waiting for their parcels to be weighed and a young women rushing in with a large piles of parcels. The commentary continues "Post now for Christmas and save transport for the war effort". The film ends with a woman's hands holding a 1941 Christmas card which opens to reveal a note of the latest posting dates.
