Description: I. "Battle of Wembley." England beat Wales 8-3 in a soccer match at Wembley attended by Attlee, Bevin and Alexander. PT instructors put on a display at half-time.
II. "Remembrance of the Few." Nation-wide celebrations are held to commemorate the Battle of Britain. Item covers the memorial service at Biggin Hill attended by Lord Trenchard (who reads the lesson) and fighter ace Group Captain Malan of South Africa who unveils the plaque in the chapel. King and Queen arrive for the memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral, then in the afternoon watch a marchpast outside Buckingham Palace by Civil Defence members, factory workers and men and women of the RAF and WAAF. Lord Dowding, London Civil Defence chief Vice-Admiral Evans and Air Minister Sir Archibald Sinclair are also present. Item emphasises that RAF is now on the offensive.
