Summary:
Description: I. "Truk." American sea-borne forces approaching Truk in the Caroline Islands are attacked by enemy planes which are driven off or brought down by a heavy barrage of flak. Carrier-borne planes then take off and attack enemy shipping at sea and in port (clear camera-gun film). Dive-bombers also attack targets in Saipan in the Marianas, including the airfield on which stand apparently unprepared Japanese planes as well as oil storage tanks. Returning planes land on the aircraft carrier, an Avenger perfectly and a Dauntless minus a wheel very skilfully.
II. "Princess Elizabeth." The Princess, eighteen on April 21 when she will assume certain constitutional responsibilities, is seen riding with her sister Princess Margaret, then with their parents beside their ponies and dogs. Commentary marvels that "every film of the Royal family tells the same story - the story of a happy and united family", and looks forward to the part to be played by the Princess "in the future welfare of this great country and Empire."
