- Description: The Marquis, as a descendant of de Rochambeau, watches the ceremony. The actual presentation is made by the Marquise, watched by a number of civilians. Following the presentation the regiment marches past. Shells fired by the French fall on the Mont Rouge position. The village of Westouter shows some shell damage and a large number of damaged vehicles. A wounded man is taken by stretcher from a temporary hospital. A number of buildings (tinted red) are burning or smouldering and there is much smoke. Troops emerge from the cathedral, which is not further damaged (tinting ends). There is a military parade through the streets including contingents from France and America. Sgr Bissolati, a Socialist minister, addresses the assembled crowd in an arena from a platform. The procession passes through the Piazza del Duomo with the crowd waving flags and cheering the Allies. A Caproni Ca 42 overflies the city, high up, during the procession through the square.
