Summary: Short instructional film on the waste of jerry cans.
Description: The film opens with the credit "Produced in the field by The Ground Photo Recce Unit, Kinema Branch, HQ 2nd Army".
The film consists of intertitles with a small amount of film. The intertitles explain that since D-Day 10,000,000 cans have been imported for use by the 21st Army and nearly 3,000,000 have been lost. Brief film sequences illustrate how the cans have been lost, abandoned by the roadside, dumped in a river, used as bed legs as support for a make-shift bed and a driver throwing away a can after refueling his lorry. The intertitles continue "Don't waste jerricans like this. They cost 9/6d each to produce so this is almost - £1,500,000 'Down The Drain'" followed by film sequences of jerry cans being filled and loaded on to a lorry. The film concludes "Without your jerrican this cannot go on and remember when you waste any army equipment it costs time, labour and money - your money. Remember you paid for it! Why waste it?"
